Ubuntu Base is a non-profit cultural organisation that promotes African culture in Sweden.

This is done through community and various forms of cultural expression such as dance, music, food, and activities.

 

The name of the organisation is rooted in the Ubuntu philosophy, which means “I am because we are,” reflecting the spirit of unity and togetherness encouraged among all people, regardless of age, identity, or background.

Ubuntu Branches are independently driven initiatives that grow from the same foundation of Ubuntu values and African cultural pride. They each focus on a specific area of community building, while remaining connected to Ubuntu Base as their shared home - the Base. Together, these branches create a wider ecosystem of spaces where African cultures are centered, communities can thrive, and representation is actively nurtured.

DANCE CENTRE

Y3NKO PROJECT

Y3nko Project is a part of uBuntu Base and a  platform dedicated to African dances, with a strong focus on community and accessibility for all levels. Their mission is to educate people about African dance styles, celebrate African cultural expressions, and empower artists from Africa and the African diaspora through classes and workshops.

Djaboot-yi är en del av Ubuntu Base och fokuserar på att skapa inkluderande mötesplatser för alla generationer. Med rötter i afrikanska värderingar om gemenskap och omsorg, samlar Djaboot-yi familjer och individer för att stärka relationer, dela erfarenheter och bygga en känsla av tillhörighet.
