Fanta Dembele was born in 1985 in Burkina Faso into a large family with strong musical traditions. She began dancing at a very young age during traditional celebrations. Together with her father and brothers, who are all musicians, Fanta traveled to Côte d’Ivoire to meet and collaborate with other artists from across Africa.

As a dancer, she stood out for her energy and her expressive, spectacular stage presence, and quickly became a source of artistic inspiration within traditional Mandinka dance. Throughout her career, Fanta has performed with several internationally renowned ballet companies, including Ballets Yelemba in Abidjan, Groupe Afrika-Afrika, and Ballets Wontanara in France.
