This coming Saturday (5/11) there is a Doundounba, organised by the west African dance organisation La Guniée Faré. Here is a link to their Facebook event: https://facebook.com/events/s/vi-firar-guinea-dag-med-stod-d/1255067638984784/ The event is in celebration of the Independence Day of Guinea Conakry. • Doundounba is a style of West African music and dance based upon the rhythms played on the drum known as the “doundoun”. • The first hour of the event is a dance class where you learn and practise some common moves used in doundounba, the remaining hours is like a ”dance jam” where everyone is dancing together, but also ”showcasing”.
